A typical advent tradition here in Norway is Christmas workshops in schools, for pupils, their siblings and parents. When our older kids were in primary school I was often in charge of these events, but with Marta I have kept myself in the shadow, leaving the duty to younger parents (well, this is not quite true, my dh was in charge of the workshop for Marta's class last year, lol)
Yesterday afternoon it was time for this annual event, and kids and parents from Marta's class filled the school. In one room we did papercrafts, making baskets and chains with glossy paper in all colours. I love to make the traditional braided baskets, and had alot of fun yesterday helping 10 year old Loyen from Somalia making his first one, a gift for his mother which was not there.
In the next room, the school kitchen, busy children's hands made gingerbread cookies. Lukily they had alot of dough to make from, every child in Norway, and I suppose around the world, love to eat gingerbread dough :-)
Before leaving school we sat down to enjoy coffee and the fresh cookies......and after coming home I enjoyed a quiet house, trying to find the child in me once more, not only the tired grown up :-)
Tomorrow I will tell you an amazing angle story, and show you a few of my advent basket angels.
