Our cabin is small and simple. And the most charming place on earth! We have no electricity and no water. We get light from a small sun cell panel, oil lamps and candles, and Terje (or any other man there) walks to an old well with two buckets to get water. Cold, clean, fresh, pure water! With the best taste in the world!
For heating we cut our own logs and burn them in the old Jøtul hearth, the heart of the cabin.
We are so used to modern facilities in our lives, and can't imagine how we can live without them. At the same time it feels like heaven to come to the small, remote cabin and spend a week-end there. And none of us miss television, computers, the morningshower (well,......that's the hardest part) or the coffee machine. Instead the rice porridge is cooked on the Jøtul oven and when it is too dark for reading we play a board game. Or we just talk, or enjoy the serenity of this lovely place. Or we go outdoors watching the millions of angels watching us from the stars.
