Cabin life always means staying close to nature. Terje, Marta and I have spent the week-end at the cabin. The weather forecast had promised us a sunny Saturday and a rainy Sunday. We drove out to the cabin Saturday morning with a backpack ready for a mountain hike on the way.
Unfortunately it started to rain already on Saturday, so the hike was cancelled. Instead we stopped an had coffee with a friend when passing by.
Arriving at the cabin the sun finally defeated the rain, and we could have lunch out at the terracce. Summer has gone and nature is preparing for autumn. There were few boats out on the fjord, and few birds around. Some ravens were busy though, and an eagle was flying quite close. And still warm enough to enjoy the sun is shart sleeves. The cabin is situated quite remote in the forest, no close neighbour, a perfect week-end retreat.
Later in the afternoon, before dawn, we decided it was time for fishing. No luck, but a superfluity of nature to enjoy.
When we left last night we closed the cabin and said goodbye for this year. We might find the time and opportunity for one more week-end before Christmas, but time might just run ahead of us. The cabin will stay though, and we have the dream of many more cabin week-ends next year.
