When we moved into our House in the Woods in October 5 years ago, part of the reason was to come closer to the woods and the countryside. Trondheim, with its 150 000 inhabitants is not a big city, so the woods are quite close anyway, but here we can just put our walking boots on and start walking.
I wish I could talk about my daily walk, but unfortunately, walking in the woods is not a daily task. I try to be out for a short or a longer walk as often as possible though. And my boots are always ready.
Today I had a day off work, and after breakfast a beautiful morning sun was shining. I had no excuse. Boots were put on, camera packed and my walk started.
Every season has its own charm in the countryside. I always call spring my favorite season, the virgin green, birds dancing to their own songs from dusk till dawn, flowers everywhere. Then the warm and beautiful summer days come, the short period in Norway where neither people nor nature sleep for a few months, and life bursts. Today I was in no doubt, autumn is my favorite season. The crisp sun trying to beat the fading temperatures, yellow, orange and red celebrate a feast to praise nature. Wait a couple of months, and I will make a winter glory post! Yes, all four seasons are my favorites!
There is a top behind our house where we can sit down viewing Trondheim. This top was my goal today. And now when you are so far, you can reach the top with me. Come on. I have a thermos with coffee and a plate of chocolate in my backpack. And if it gets cold we can lit a fire. Up there we will sit down and I will tell you about my beautiful city, or we can just look up at the blue sky through the tree crowns, letting our minds float.
