Had another wonderful, relaxing week-end at the cabin. Spring had arrived during the few weeks we hadn't been there. The trees were green, flowers were blooming in the beds and the birds were busier than ever. We spent all Saturday outdoor. The girls, Marta and a friend, were playing in the forest, I weeded my flower beds, Terje chopped woods. And in the afternoon we went fishing. The girls were thrilled when we got fish :-) Two on Saturday, perfect for supper, and then three on when they went out again on Sunday with my father.
My parents came out on Sunday and brought dinner with them, traditional Norwegian "sodd", a kind of soup with meatballs and small pieces of meat. Unfortunately the weather was not so bright and sunny on Sunday, so we spent most of the day indoors. The view is still perfect to enjoy through the windows though, and there are always enough activities for indoor life as well.
I have my books, the girls have games and Marta's stamp collection, and Terje doesn't mind a little rain, he can still be outdoors chopping his wood.
These cabin week-ends are a perfect way of doing something completely different, and getting the very best rest and relaxion in our busy every day life. We feel so blessed to have this small and simple heavenly place, and know we can go back again and again when life gets a little too busy and stressful for us.
And if you want to enjoy some grilled fresh fish with us, please come over. It is served!
