I am busy tonight. Too busy to sit down blogging, too busy too search though my iPhoto library, too busy too read. I should be preparing for a three day´s work trip which starts tomorrow. I should be packing my suitcase. I should be working on some writing for the first part of my trip, I should be......... I should be...... I should be...
But here I am. Blogging. Searching for photos. Reading.
And it feels heavenly.
Books are always my best medicine when I am stressed. When I have too much to do. When I worry. And while I left my suitcase halfpacked downstairs, I know exactly which medicine I need today. A book about gardening. A book about gardeners.
So from my book case with glass doors, where I keep many f my treasures, I have picked out Gardening Women, Their Stories from 1600 to the Present, by Catherine Horwood. And among so many other garden foremothers, I read about Gertrude Jekyll. My garden woman hero.
The photos are from Lindisfarne, where Gefrtrude Jekyll created a garden on the foot of Lindisfarne Castle. I have been there several times. These images were taken in May 2007.
