I am always busy during the summer weeks. Traveling, yes, but also gardening. A lot of gardening. I still read books and I have finished many, though I have not had time to write about them. We have been back to work two weeks already, but still with gardening on the scedule, and also the St. Olav Festival, reading has not been a priority.
But right now my husband and I are having a quiet weekend at our cabin. I brough a bag full of books, and I am enjoying sitting out on our terracce, enjoying the view, reading, reading, reading. The first 10 days of October we are going to the Republic of Georgia, and preparing for the trip, I have a stack of books about the country ready to be read.
Today I started "Contemporary Georgian Fiction", translated and edited by Elizabeth Heighway. The book start with an introduction by Heighway, where she talks about Georgian literatur, and the challenges a translator meats. Then it continues with a series of contemporary short stories. I have taken my first two dives, I realize I swim in unknown waters, and I like what I see, what I feel, what I meet. Still very different from the calm sea where I usually swim. But filled with surprises.
