Some years ago I got a cookbook by Tessa Kiros as a gift from a houseguest. Her cookbooks are pieces of art, for the recipes, but even more fpor the design and for the myriads of great photos. Later, when I saw that she had a cookbook from Venice out, it took me no time to order it from amazon.
Venice has a long line of charming restaurants. Well, how can I tell, I have been to only a few of the many during my years of travelling there, but from those I have been to, I have wonderful food tales to tell. Like Trattoria Alla Scala, where the above photo is from. I had a four hours lunch there some years ago, learning to make and to eat spaghetti vongole the Venetian way.
I know where to find the biggest pizza in Venice, the best pizza, the pizza on the restaurant with the most charming view. I know a dozen places with heavenly fish soup, I know where to eat my spaghetti vongole, my risotto..........oh, there are so many favorite places.
....and in a few weeks I am back.
Meanwhile I have Tessa Kiros´marvellous book.
