Three years ago we spent two summer weeks in Provence, together with our French friends. The first week we stayed in an old farm near Vauvert in Camargue, the second week in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, near Forcalquier. Had two fantastic weeks and brought back loads of good memories.
And more "memories" came when we came home. Some time after the Provence trip, my French friend Marie Noëlle made us a set of handpainted china, dinner plates and a full breksfast set for six. I had breakfast alone in the garden this morning, all the rest are busy with sleeping or handball, and the lavendel china brough back all the good Provence memories. From the shelves in my studio I picked out the travel diary I made that summer and will now enjoy reading about it all.
It is always sayd that an important part of a travel is the preparations. I agree, but memories are just as important. And they can be with you always.
